History

The Blue Peter was launched in 1930, although the teak used in the construction of her hull was brought from Thailand in 1870. She was designed by Alfred Mylne and built by W. King & Sons of Burnham-on-Crouch. She was named The Blue Peter for luck, after the 'P' flag, which is used before starting a race.
The Blue Peter won over 50 races in the following years, sailing out of The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club in Burnham-on-Crouch.

The present owner, Mathew Barker, bought her in 1999 and took her to Italy. Having obtained the original plans, he began a three year restoration to bring her back to her original splendour.

During this time The Blue Peter has, and still does, race at many of the Mediterranean regattas with some great results, namely, winning regattas in Antibes, Cannes, Palma and winner of "Most Authentic Restauration" in St Tropez in 2002. The Blue Peter is now run out of Cannes. She is kept in immaculate condition and is always admired in the various harbours of the Mediterranean. Mat is a fully qualified skipper with many years of sailing experience.

All this makes The Blue Peter ideal for any kind of charter from a family cruise through to Off sites, Corporate Hospitality and Teambuilding exercises.

She can be chartered for one of the many classic regattas or just for a cruise down the French Riviera.Which ever event you chose, The Blue Peter and her crew are guaranteed to make it a special event.
